What does leadership mean to APO?
Leadership is a core principle of Alpha Phi Omega. It is the first cardinal principle of APO that we tell everyone about. Leadership at Alpha Delta is focused in on developing and growing our Brothers’ professional and leadership abilities. We do this through participating in workshops that are held by Career Services, Student Life & Leadership, as well as by our own Brothers.
How do our Brothers lead?
Leadership takes many different forms in the Alpha Delta Chapter of Alpha Phi Omega. For starters, the traditional form of leadership takes place through our Brothers serving on Executive Board. However, leadership goes much further than that. Brothers are able to develop their leadership skills through attendance at participatory workshops - some examples of which are: open forums, career & professional development, & public speaking. Even further, Brothers are able to lead by chairing events, participating on various committees, & even by simply taking initiative to help our chapter grow.
message from the leadership Vice President
Hello, my name is Jacob Ninomiya and I am the Leadership Vice President for the Spring 2020 semester. The leadership program that I have planned will focus primarily on providing our brothers with a space where they can practice working in small groups to accomplish a task, think of new and creative solutions to certain problems, and communicating their skills and ideas in a way that is beneficial to the overall group dynamic. As for events, I will utilize open forums, public speaking seminars, leadership laboratories, and other events to give everyone a space where they can practice the skills listed above. I look forward to serving everyone this semester as your Leadership Vice President.
